Connect Cell Group Ministry Small Groups

Inspiration

“I’m eager to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. In this way, each of us will be a blessing to the other.” (Romans 1:12 NLT)

Purpose

Many people find that it is difficult to get involved in a church, especially in a large congregation. One way to develop meaningful relationships with other people is by joining one of our many Connect cell groups. Connect cell groups are an integral part of community life at Diamond Valley Baptist Church and provide a caring environment in which you can experience God along with others and discover opportunities for service.

What is a Connect cell group?

Connect cell groups are essentially small gatherings of people who meet regularly for the purpose of encouraging one another spiritually, as well as reaching-out to those who do not yet know God

The goals of Connect cell group ministry are:

To Connect with God - Love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind (Luke 10:27a)

To Connect with each other - Love your neighbour as yourself (Luke 10:27b)

To Connect with the world - Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them... and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you (Matthew 28:19-20)

Here at Diamond Valley Baptist Church, we believe that being part of a Connect cell group is an essential part of church life. It is that only in the context of a smaller group that true relationships can be developed and nurtured.

Our groups meet on a regular basis in people’s homes and cater for all ages. There are a number of Connect cell groups meeting on various nights of the week in the suburbs surrounding Diamond Valley. All groups meet for the same reason: to connect people relationally with God and with each other, to reach out to those who do not know Christ, and increase the number of those who do.

Connect cell groups are encouraged to spend time together outside their nominated meeting time to further build their relationships. Groups need to find their own common interests that can range from spending a weekend together, sharing a meal, or doing something practical to meet a specific need within the community.

Why should you join a Connect cell group?

  • To be in a place where you can build relationships and care for one another through encouragement, friendship and practical expressions of love and kindness.
  • To be in a place where Christians are encouraged and held accountable for reaching out to the unchurched and welcoming them into the Church.
  • To be in a place where you and your family can grow together and apply their faith in today’s culture.

Our Mission

To connect people relationally with God and with each other, to reach out to those who do not know Christ, and increase the number of those who do.
